If by some chance you are one of the 3 people in the world that don’t yet have a Nintendo DS or you’re looking to upgrade to a newer model, we’ve got some good news for you. Earlier today Nintendo announced price cuts for the DSi and DSiXL systems that will go into effect on September 12th. The DSi will drop from $169.99 to $149.99 and the DSiXL will drop from $189.99 to $169.99.
“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Our new Nintendo DSi prices make it easier than ever for consumers to access the tremendous variety of games, applications and social tools on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.”
These drops will probably not be the last price cuts we can expect before the 3DS comes out. But if you’re looking for an entry point into the handheld scene, this isn’t a bad place to start.
