You may have heard of the “Summer of Arcade,” but now Microsoft’s offering up “The Game Feast.” This fall, Microsoft is bringing us all four exclusive downloadable games in consecutive weeks. Here’s the breakdown:
- September 29: Hydrophobia (Dark Energy Digital LTD/Microsoft Game Studios) – 1200 MS Points
- October 6: Comic Jumper (Twisted Pixel/Microsoft Game Studios) – 1200 MS Points
- October 13: Pinball FX 2 (Zen Studios/Microsoft game Studios) – Tables purchased individually, free import from Pinball FX
- October 20: Super Meat Boy (Team Meat/Microsoft Game Studios) – Pricing TBD
If you include such titles as Plants vs Zombies (1200MS Points) and Sonic Adventures (800 MS Points) coming on September 8th and 15th respectively, the next two months have some pretty promising XBLA titles coming out.

Super Meat Boy looks decent, but I think if I were going to get another XBLA title at this point I would go with Limbo or maybe pick up a title I’ve been meaning to for a while now like Duke Nukem or Doom perhaps.
Our own Bill Gwilt has spent some time w/ Limbo and really likes it. I may have to give it a try at some point too.
I think once it hits $10 on sale sometime (hopefully soon) is when I will pick it up.
I cannot wait for Plants vs. Zombies on XBLA. That looks to be my favorite out of that lineup, but I do like that they are trying to continue with the feel of summer of arcade.
Hey BSU, welcome to the show.
I’ve gotta say, Comic Jumper really intrigues me.
