Today we got the first glimpse from Bioware of what we can expect as far as DLC for Dragon Age II. The pack entitled ‘The Exiled Prince’ will be available as a day one download, and will be free for all gamers who preordered the Dragon Age II Signature Edition. For those who forgot, all preorders for Dragon Age II taken before January 11th will automatically upgrade to the Signature Edition.
‘The Exiled Prince’ introduced a character named Sebastian Vael whom players will join on a quest to avenge his murdered family. After completing the DLC quest, Sebastian becomes available to join the party full time. In a way, this reminds us of the ‘Stone Prisoner’ DLC pack that came with Dragon Age: Origins. If Sebastian is half as interesting as Shale was as a character, this pack wil be well worth picking up for those that can’t find a way to preorder the game in the next 5 days.
“Our goal for the Dragon Age II DLC is to extend Hawke’s journey and the Dragon Age universe by introducing additional characters with meaningful storylines and intense, dynamic missions,” said Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of Dragon Age II. “Not only will ’The Exiled Prince’ allow players to experience Sebastian’s powerful revenge story, but they will also be able to utilize him as a follower throughout Hawke’s rise to power in Dragon Age II.”
In case you forgot, we placed Dragon Age II on our list of most anticipated games for 2011. Give the full list a look see and learn why 2011 may be the “Year of Bioware.”
