Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the Wii U, successor to the Nintendo Wii, will launch in time for Holiday 2012. That means a new Nintendo system this year people! Get hyped! (Yeah, we know. Never mind)
While admittedly, the Wii U doesn’t look like a system that offers a whole lot more than the current gen XBOX and Playstation consoles, with next gen Sony and Microsoft consoles clearly on the horizon, it is new, and has that touch screen tablety controller. So that’s something, right? RIGHT???
Ok, so admittedly, we’re not particularly impressed. But the biggest selling point for us is always the games. And the Wii simply didn’t have them. We didn’t even get a Zelda game properly designed for the Wii until this past fall. And good hardcore 3rd party titles were pretty few and far between. Mario alone can only take you so far. Hopefully we’ll finally get so see some exciting new IP’s for this new system.

It would be nice if corporate america could create a separate buying season for each quarter so that we don’t have to wait a whole damn year for anything to release.
We could certainly stand a summer launch I think. I’m not so sold on February being a good launch window for the PSV, considering the price and the fact that a lot of people are still paying of their X-Mas bills.
