Alan Wake Finally Gets PC Release Date http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/alan-wake-finally-gets-pc-release-date/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/alan-wake-finally-gets-pc-release-date/#comments Fri, 03 Feb 2012 16:05:09 +0000 Matt Cesca http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35051 PC gamers have been waiting far longer than anyone else for Alan Wake to hit.  That’s because the game was originally announced for the PC, switched to the XBOX 360, and then finally, more than a year after the game’s console release, is finally making it’s way to it’s original destination on February 16th.  And while the little voice on the GPS of reality may have taken Alan Wake on more than one wrong turn on it’s trip here, it did pick up a couple of new passengers along for the ride in the game’s two DLC packs, which come as part of the complete PC package.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings ‘The Beginning’ Video Developer Diary http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings-the-beginning-video-developer-diary/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings-the-beginning-video-developer-diary/#comments Fri, 03 Feb 2012 15:52:19 +0000 Matt Cesca http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35063 The video game industry is out to get me.  They’re releasing too many RPG’s in a six month time period.  This has already destroyed my productivity from time to time, as I sit there trying to push that level bar, or complete “just one more quest” in games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Star Wars: The Old Republic.  Toss in both Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning this month, Mass Effect 3 shortly thereafter, and I don’t know how I’m going to find time to play them all.

So it’s only fitting that CD Projekt Red has decided to pig pile on with The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings for the XBOX 360.  This was a series I was always interested in, but as a console gamer (for the most part), one I passed on the first time around.  But with the game finally making it to consoles this Spring, I have no further excuses.  And as we discover in this new Developer Diary, this game’s not just a port, but a retooled version of the game that was made with the console in mind.

Three New NeverDead Trailers http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/three-new-neverdead-trailers/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/03/three-new-neverdead-trailers/#comments Fri, 03 Feb 2012 15:46:00 +0000 Matt Cesca http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35041 Buried somewhere this week in the launches of Final Fantasy XIII-2 and SoulCalibur V, was the launch of a little game from Konami called NeverDead. You see in NeverDead, you play as a character who can basically be dismembered and keep on fighting those evil, evil demons.  But does it work?  Conceptually, it’s interesting…..as you’ll see in the first trailer below, the game’s launch trailer.  Practically, not so much…..as you’ll see in the two gameplay videos that follow.  But hey, it’s got a new MegaDeth song in the game, so that’s something (if you like that sort of thing).

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Launch Trailer http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/02/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning-launch-trailer/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/02/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning-launch-trailer/#comments Thu, 02 Feb 2012 08:04:55 +0000 Matt Cesca http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35004 So you may have heard that we’re looking forward to this little RPG called Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning here at GEV.  Truth be told, we’re in the middle of what looks like a great 6 month stretch of RPG goodness from all sides of the gaming industry, and this fantasy RPG featuring the talents of R.A. Salvatorre and Todd McFarlane looks like the perfect sauce in the middle of the sandwich.  So with the game’s release less than a week away, here’s the launch trailer.

SSX ‘Own the Planet: Antarctica’ Trailer http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/02/ssx-own-the-planet-antarctica-trailer/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/02/ssx-own-the-planet-antarctica-trailer/#comments Thu, 02 Feb 2012 08:01:00 +0000 Matt Cesca http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35002 As I continue to count down the days until SSX comes out, EA continues to release what seems like a daily trickle of new trailers.  This time the latest trailer takes the Arizona boy (and you as well), to the frozen wastes on Antarctica, where I hear it’s very cold.  And snowy.  And icy.  Man, this Arizona thing sounds better by the minute…

The Simpsons Arcade Game Coming to XBLA THIS WEEK! …PSN Next Week http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/01/the-simpsons-arcade-game-coming-to-xbla-this-week-psn-next-week/ http://www.gameseyeview.com/2012/02/01/the-simpsons-arcade-game-coming-to-xbla-this-week-psn-next-week/#comments Thu, 02 Feb 2012 03:36:20 +0000 Jordan Hill http://www.gameseyeview.com/?p=35021 This is one of those “the headline is the news” kind of posts.  But who cares?! Simpsons Arcade!

The often-wished for game will hit on Friday Feb. 3rd for XBLA (yeah, I know it is a weird day to release on) and will then do the Bartman onto the PSN on Tuesday Feb. 7th.

The classic coin-guzzler will run you 800 Billy Gates Fun Bucks or $10.00 if you’re a human.

Co-op is intact and you can also unlock the Japanese version of the game which, as far as I know, just includes more tentacles.
